Purpose: The Student Affairs Assessment Office conducts student-centered research directed toward program and service improvement. The Office specializes in providing valid and reliable information about our students and their experiences at OSU and the campus environment, and developing outcome measures that assess the impact of policies, programs, services, and facilities on student learning, satisfaction, retention, and success.
Functions:
- Collaborate with other university and division units to advance the institution's assessment and research agenda
- Conduct new studies of priority interest to the division and the university.
- Produce more detailed student findings using existing data sets.
- Distribute findings using a standardized reporting system.
- Expand assessment expertise among division staff.
- Provide ready access to resource materials and consultative services that will assist staff/units with their assessment activities.
- Offer "hands-on" learning experiences for students interested in acquiring research skills.
- Serve as a clearinghouse for Student Affairs assessment resources and findings
