Transition to College
By surveying returning and non-returning students at OSU after one quarter of enrollment, this study seeks to identify factors that aid and impede students' successful transition to college. Students were asked about the level of helpfulness of Summer Orientation, Welcome Week, and Parents' Weekend, their concerns about attending OSU, their experiences with negative incidents on or around campus, and their evaluation of how they were doing with personal and academic-related competencies. Comparisons are made between returning and non-returning students. In addition, differences based on residence, gender, race/ethnicity, and GPA are also examined.
