Tracy supervises Student Life’s marketing, development, parent and family relations, recreational sports, and orientation departments. As director of the Ohio Union, she oversees the Student Activities office, major campus events, and Greek life. Also, Tracy is setting the vision for the newly created Center for Leadership and Service. Tracy received her B.A. in education at Westminster College and her M.A. in counseling and educational psychology at Slippery Rock University. She began her career at Ohio Northern University, where she worked in admissions and student activities. In 1994, she came to Student Life at Ohio State as coordinator of Greek Life.

Mike brings a wealth of experience to the recreational learning position, including spearheading a number of “firsts” on a national level, such as a new Recreational Sports Learning Community, creation of the National Research Institute for College Recreational Sports and Wellness, housed here at Ohio State; and the planning for and opening of the RPAC facilities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education degree from Purdue University and an M.A. in recreation administration from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Mike has been with Student Life since 1994, serving as director of recreational sports from 1994-2009. He served as director of recreational sports at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale prior to coming to Ohio State.

Kurt Carmen

Kurt leads one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive recreational sports and fitness departments in the country, headquartered in the new state-of-the-art Recreation and Physical Activity Center. He holds a bachelor’s degree in social welfare from Ohio State and performed graduate work in recreation administration at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Kurt has been in Student Life since 2001, having served as associate director of aquatics and senior associate director for recreational sports before taking on his current role. Kurt previously served as the director of aquatics at a number of institutions prior to coming to Ohio State.

Heather is responsible for fund raising to support the initiatives, units and priorities within the Office of Student Life. She earned a B.A. in English from Ohio University and an M.A. in education from Ohio State. She has worked for 10 years at Ohio State in Student Life, two as director of development.

Matt coordinates the contributions Student Life makes to the orientation of all new students at Ohio State. He also oversees Student Activities functions in the Ohio Union, such as campus events, student organization services, and advising Undergraduate Student Government. Matt earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and linguistics from The College of William & Mary and an M.A. in higher education and student affairs from Ohio State. He has worked in Student Life at Ohio State since 1997.

Kellie coordinates the marketing efforts across Student Life departments to increase awareness of services, programs, activities, events and facilities. She provides support and consultation services for development and implementation of marketing strategies. Kellie earned a B.S. in business administration from Ohio State. Before joining the Student Life staff in 2008, she was director of marketing and branding for The Columbus Dispatch.

Ryan W. Lovell

As director of programming in the university’s Office of Parent and Family Relations, Ryan assists in coordinating programs, services, and communications specifically for parents and families of Ohio State students. These include the annual Parent & Family Weekend in the fall and Sibs Weekend in the spring, and a regular e-mail message with campus updates, important deadlines, and other pertinent information. Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from West Chester University, and his master’s degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University. He has been at Ohio State since 2007, and previously held student life positions at Hartwick College and Lehigh University.
