Daniel L. Allen Controller and Director, Fiscal Support Services

Dan oversees accounting, purchasing, accounts payable, internal controls, and business continuity, and coordinates Student Life fiscal operations with University centralized operations. He holds a B.S. in accounting and computer management and an M.B.A. from Franklin University, and a B.S. in business administration from Bowling Green State University. Prior to beginning work at Ohio State in 1990, Dan worked in banking, computer programming and systems analysis, and accounting management, auditing, and computer consulting. He retired in 2007 as a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, and except for a 16-month military deployment to Iraq, Dan has worked in Student Life since 2000.

David Anthony Director, BuckID

David oversees BuckID , the official ID card for Ohio State University. BuckID allows students, staff, and faculty to access places, services, and funds via a centrally managed system. The BuckID debit program is the largest of its kind in the nation, and the BuckID Office produces more than 40,000 cards annually. Prior to starting work at Ohio State in 2006, David worked in trade marketing and corporate communications in the consumer packaged goods industry. He earned a B.A. at Gonzaga University and an M.B.A. from the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State.

Mary A. Daniels, Ph.D. Special Assistant to the Vice President and Student Life Program Review Administrator

Mary developed and administers the Student Life program review process in which each unit within Student Life periodically conducts an intensive self-study, followed by reviews by both a committee composed of Ohio State faculty, staff and students who interact with the unit and a panel of nationally recognized experts in the field. The process examines current programming, services, direction and operational effectiveness, and validates strengths and identifies opportunities for improvement. The result is higher performing units whose goals align with Ohio State’s vision and strategic priorities. Mary holds a B.S. in health & physical education from Wisconsin State University-Oshkosh, a M.A. in physical education and a Ph.D. in sport management from Ohio State. She retired from Ohio State as an assistant vice president for student life in 2001 after 30 years with the university. As assistant vice president, Mary provided administrative leadership for several student life units including: Counseling and Consultation Service, Student Wellness Center, Student Health Services, Recreational Sports, Student Life Research & Assessment, Ethnic Student Services, Student Gender & Sexuality Services, and Student Activities. During the last 23 years of Mary's administrative career she also served on the graduate faculty in the College of Education as an adjunct associate professor. She returned in a part-time capacity in 2002 to lead the program review process.

Andrea Gintert Senior Human Resource Officer

Andrea leads the Student Life human resources team and provides strategic leadership and direction for all Student Life human resources functions, including hiring, talent management, performance management, compensation, employee and labor relations, and organization development. She works closely with both the units in Student Life and the university’s Office of Human Resources.

She joined Student Life in December 2011 after having served in similar capacities at Ohio State’s offices of Facilities Operation and Development, and Administration and Planning. Her experience also includes positions with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, MCI WorldCom, Ameritech, and Capital University.

Andrea holds a B.A. in English and a Master of Public Administration from Ohio State. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources Management and a certified facilitator of several motivational and career development programs.

Donna Lewis Director, Budget and Planning

Donna leads all aspects of the annual budget process for the Office of Student Life. She has financial oversight of short- and long-term planning , capital planning, and forecasting. She also oversees Student Life Payroll and Accounting areas. Donna holds a B.S. in Accounting from Franklin University and has worked for Ohio State since 2004.

John Link Chief Information Officer

John oversees Technology Services and BuckID for the Office of Student Life. Technology Services provides services such as web and application development, IT project and portfolio management, ResNet, and the IT Support Center and IT infrastructure. He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois and is a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Rebecca R. Nelson Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President, Equity, Community and Grants Initiatives

Rebecca provides support, consultancy, and education in relation to Student Life staff and student employee equity, grant development, and community development initiatives. Rebecca has a B.A. in English and political science from Linfield College and an M.A. in adult education from Ohio State. Rebecca joined Ohio State as a graduate assistant in 1988 and has worked in various areas throughout the university: academic advising, the Office of Minority Affairs (now the Office of Diversity and Inclusion), community development at the Medical Center, and in 2001, she joined the Student Life staff.
