6.15 - Emergency ClosingWord DocumentAll Office of Student Affairs employees will be issued an annual letter to notify them of their individual designation status for Emergency Closing (short-term university closure) as determined by their department. All staff designated as ESSENTIAL should report to work. ALTERNATE and STANDBY staff will be notified to work if additional assistance is needed. A sample letter can be reviewed by clicking on the Policy #.
(NOTE: University Policy 6.15 and 6.15 FAQs are currently being updated to reflect this change. A lot of the Office of Student Affairs employees are designated as Essential, while many others are designated as Alternate or Standby.)
6.17 - Disaster Preparedness, State of EmergencyWord DocumentAll Office of Student Affairs employees will be issued an annual letter to notify them of their individual designation status for Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency (long-term university closure) as determined by their department. ESSENTIAL employees are expected to report for work during a University State of Emergency unless specifically directed by their department not to report, or if directed by civil emergency or medical authorities not to report for health and safety reasons. ALTERNATE and STANDBY staff will be notified to work if additional assistance is needed.

Emergency Closing and Disaster Preparedness InfoWord DocumentAll Office of Student Affairs employees will be issued a letter from Student Affairs Human Resources in December 2007 to notify them of their individual designation status for a university Emergency Closing (short-term university closure), or a university Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency (long-term closure). Employees will be designated individually by their department for both the short-term and long-term university closures. This is a change to the previous Student Affairs policy that all employees were designated as Essential. Please make yourself aware of your new designations; they may be ESSENTIAL, ALTERNATE, or STANDBY. Please contact Student Affairs Human Resources at 292-2431 if you have any questions.
